Patio Stone Installation Guidelines:
Each Earthstone patio
stone is handcrafted and individually colored to ensure
a unique and truly natural appearance throughout your project.
However, uniformity has its place and it is during the installation
that the uniformity of our patio stones is truly appreciated.
All Earthstone patio stones measure two inches in thickness
which results in level patio or walkway surfaces with minimal
effort. In addition to this, the complimentary dimensions
of the stones allow for near limitless design opportunities
while minimizing the necessity to cut stones.
As with any project requiring
planning and preparation, careful attention to details and
strict adherence to prescribed installation instructions
will result in finished projects of enduring beauty and
the avoidance of time-consuming and potentially costly mistakes.
Your dream patio or walkway
is only a few easy steps away. Based on the surface over
which the patio is to be installed, there are two basic
methods of installation. The most common installation is
over a bed of sand placed on top of a prepared, compacted
surface. An alternative method entails the application of
Earthstone patio stones over a poured or existing concrete
slab. The latter installation method typically is employed
when a concrete slab exists either partially or entirely
over an area to be surfaced with Earthstone patio stones.
The ability to apply the stones over the existing concrete
surface eliminates the need to remove the existing slab
or in some cases allows for an installation of greater permanence
and the ability to utilize traditional stone setting techniques
utilizing mortar to set the stones and in filling the joints
between stones. Both methods result in patios and walkways
of incredible beauty that will be enjoyed for many years.
